email n.scardeoni@libero.it SUMMARY This is to try to give life to the idea of revisiting the works of Danilo Dolci through the collections of data and the construction of interrelations in the web, forming an informative archive on the life, testimonies, written works and memories of Danilo Dolci, “the poet, educator and sociologist” – “The Socratic Laboratory of Danilo Dolci” EDUCATIVE
INTRODUCTION In
the ever-conflicting world where “others” different or diverse
from us,keeps pouring more and more on our geographical horizon and
culturally destabilizing the certainty of our attitudes and cultural
traditions, it is necessary to look into, again, the concepts of: ecumenism,
relations, living together, legality, peace, democracy, nationalism,
individualism, intolerance, prejudices, illegality, violence, racism… in
confrontation with
eye-opening testimonies The
works of Danilo Dolci belong to the inalienable order of that spiritual
economy that connects the Great Men in our history, commencing
from Danilo’s experiences – a Northerner transplanted in Sicily
alongside the farmers of Partinico, his indomitable passion for
civil liberty, his concern
for the weakest and the defenceless. To
stimulate better a creative active participation on the subject, it
is indispensable the use of didactical multimedia means in its
fundamental role that students may construct in themselves the modes,
the contents and the logical flow of knowledge. ACTIVITY
DESCRIPTION As
the new computer laboratory will be ready, April 2002 we hope, we’ll
begin the basic training lessons on
the computer usage , moving then into
the Word processing
spreadsheet.The next step will see
the acquisition of images with the scanner and the digital
camera, the digitalisation and the printing. We’ll
move then to internet, the html ,the preparation of a web page and
the writing of a CD. The
last part of the program will cover Access. The
full program will last for ten months, covering two scholar years. In
parallel , as the students gain the required knowledge, they will
put it in practice ,acquiring the material written
by Danilo Dolci ,printing it and adding information to the new
digital archive . The
school G.B.Grassi Privitera host 600 students. As
we would like to have a full and better usage of the HP equipment,we’ll
organize also evening sessions for adults on the Computer usage. We’ll receive support from “On line with…”, the Association “Centro per lo sviluppo creativo “,under the technical supervision of the National Research Center –ITDF of Palermo. Projected
